Chess Reel ("the Service") is a web-based chess learning platform available at chessreel.com. It provides chess game playback, opening training, and educational content. Some features are available for free; others require a paid subscription.
To access certain features, you must create an account using a valid email address or Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, or have verifiable parental consent if under 16 (or under 13 in the US per COPPA).
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you select). Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period.
All prices are displayed inclusive of applicable VAT. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice before your next billing period. Price changes do not affect your current billing period.
We may offer free trial periods. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan. We will clearly inform you of the trial end date and the price that will apply.
Under EU consumer protection law, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase, without giving any reason.
However, if you request immediate access to the Service and acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the digital content has been fully provided, the withdrawal right is waived upon access. We will ask for your explicit consent before this happens.
To exercise your withdrawal right (where applicable), contact us at william@kendev.se with a clear statement of your decision to withdraw. We will process refunds within 14 days using the same payment method.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to paid features until then. No partial refunds are given for unused time within a billing period.
If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using paid features and we are unable to resolve it, you may request a refund within 30 days of the charge by contacting william@kendev.se. Refunds are issued at our reasonable discretion.

The Service's code, design, branding, and original content are owned by KenDev AB. Chess game data (PGN moves) is factual and not subject to copyright. User-generated content (such as custom games or annotations) remains the property of the user who created it.
The Service is provided "as is." We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under EU law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KenDev AB's total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under Swedish or EU law (such as fraud or gross negligence).
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our privacy practices.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice on the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with changes, you may cancel your subscription before the new terms take effect.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes shall be settled by the Swedish courts. As an EU consumer, you also have the right to submit disputes to the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr or to Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN) at arn.se.
